Connect the value statement to an executable purchase
A compelling message can earn attention while leaving the buying process unresolved. Define what the buyer must understand, evaluate and approve. Identify the commercial owner, technical support and implementation responsibilities on both sides.
Then connect acquisition to delivery: annual value, costs, sales effort and customer capacity. A strategy that produces demand your company cannot onboard is not complete. Write the feedback route so rejected accounts, evaluation failures and implementation problems change the next cohort or offer.
| Decision | Evidence to use | What changes next |
|---|---|---|
| Relevant value | Problem, segment and alternatives are specific | Choose accounts and a neutral discovery hypothesis |
| Buyable offer | Scope, evaluation and adoption responsibilities are clear | Help a committee compare and approve the change |
| Repeatable operation | Owners, economics and feedback are defined | Operate without requiring a founder to invent every next step |
Work through the decision
Illustrative positioning: 'make enterprise entitlements easy.' To turn it into a GTM plan, define which platforms experience the access-management problem, how engineering validates it, who approves the budget and what a standard integration includes.
The outbound message asks about the relevant workflow. Discovery tests its consequence. Evaluation uses agreed success criteria. Procurement receives accurate materials. Handover records what made the account fit. Each step makes the original value statement actionable without expanding it into promises the product cannot support.
Marketing and selling describe different promises
If the website promises one outcome and discovery repeatedly retreats to a smaller scope, clarify the offer. Use buyer objections to check whether positioning, product and delivery tell the same story. A more aggressive claim is not a repair for a misaligned scope.
A concrete next step
Take your current positioning sentence and write the buyer decision it implies. Add the evidence, evaluation and implementation conditions required to make that decision credible.
