Support the hiring team without changing who hires
Connect the role to the actual motion. Specify account work, selling decisions, technical support and management context. A role description that lists every task without priorities can attract unsuitable candidates or create impossible expectations.
Build practical assessments and onboarding materials from the operating workflow. Include accepted and rejected cases, reply handling, qualification and product boundaries. Explain evidence behind the assessment and keep it role-relevant. The agency can recommend and coach; the client's hiring team decides and manages employment.
| Decision | Evidence to use | What changes next |
|---|---|---|
| Role definition | Responsibilities, boundaries, skills and management | Make the job fit the motion |
| Assessment and interviews | Practical exercises and evidence-based feedback | Help the client evaluate relevant judgment |
| Onboarding and ramp | Playbooks, practice and independent demonstrations | Help the chosen hire operate the system |
Work through the decision
Illustrative role: an SDR researches accounts, develops conversations and prepares AE handoffs, but does not authorize product promises or negotiate exceptional terms. Assessment includes a fit account, a rejection and a mixed reply. Onboarding then practices those same decisions in the client's systems.
The agency shares its assessment and coaching plan with the hiring team. It does not claim the candidate will definitely hit quota or accept employment. Internal management and realistic capacity remain necessary after the engagement ends.
The role combines SDR, AE, administrator and manager without support
A broad title can conceal several jobs. Prioritize decisions and state available support. Hiring one person does not automatically fill every gap that a full external team previously covered.
A concrete next step
Review the role description with the hiring manager and operating lead. Remove unrealistic combinations, then design one assessment case for each core decision the role owns.
